East Point has a history of being a city devoted to innovation and development.
It owes its name in part because of one of the greatest inventions of the 19th century, the railroad.
East Point gets its namesake from being the east point terminus for the Atlanta & West Point Railroad.
Having started out as a settlement with a mere 16 families in the late 1800s, the city has grown astronomically.
